MATUNDA YA KWANZA

Fruits First!!! The word Kwanzaa originates from the Swahili Dialect. The festival of Kwanzaa represents the deep spiritual connection of Africans settled outside of Africa to their roots and culture. It is a time to celebrate culture, to assimilate the values of motherland’s culture along with the values of the new land and to further pass it along to the coming generation for a stronger and more resilient identity of the Africans and the African Americans. In the US, its a week of celebrations commemorating and appreciating African-American Culture. It pays homage to the History of Blacks in America, their Past Sacrifices and the Triumphs. The 7 day Festival Of Kwanzaa celebrates 7 principles, the first day celebrates Umoja (Unity), the second day is dedicated to Kujichagulia (self-determination), The third day honors Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujaamaa (cooperative economics) is the theme to be practiced on the fourth day, The day after celebrates Nia (Purpose), Kumba (creativity) is the soul of this community and it is honored on the sixth day, the last day is a culmination of all and The Imani (faith) for a better tomorrow. Make the celebrations more vibrant with our Kwanzaa Invitations that honor the principles. Browse through our editable templates or customize an invite with your own Kumba (creativity).
