Samarth Anantuni

Samarth Anantuni is a 16-year-old from Austin, TX, endowed with a gentle grace and a sense of depth in his music.
He is the disciple of violin exponent and musical guru Shri Vidya Sagar, and renowned guru and
patron of music Sangeetha Seva Ratna Dr. N. Venkateshwaran.

Samarth began his musical journey at the age of six with Shri Vidya Sagar and, over the years,
with Shri Vishaal’s patient and thorough teaching approach. He developed a keen understanding and creative voice of
the veena. In 2017, he also began learning from Dr. N. Venkateshwaran, whose immense knowledge and evocative
compositions helped Samarth explore music’s deeper meaning for him.

Samarth has participated in a variety of music presentations and competitions. He has performed at regional
and national competitions and festivals for organizations such as the Cleveland Aradhana, Indian Fine Arts (IFA),
CMANA, and the Sangeeth Samraat competitions. He has also performed at major events, including concerts for several
temples and organizations. For his achievements and dedication to music, he has been the recipient of awards
and recognitions from many leading Indian Fine Arts organizations.

Samarth is a rising junior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA). He is a black belt in Taekwondo and also swims, plays chess, and basketball. He is very passionate about his academics. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and listening to sports podcasts.

Violin: Sruti Sarathy

Sruti Sarathy is a leading Carnatic violinist, singer, and composer. Her original music, a meeting place for South Asian diasporic culture, raga-based improvisation, and Western classical harmony, has won rave acclaim in its originality and depth. Over the last decade, Sruti has brought the voice of the Indian violin to contemporary, experimental, and world music.

Mridangam: Akshay Anantapadmanabhan

Akshay Anantapadmanabhan is a reputed mridangam artist and senior disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi Shri T. H. Subash Chandran. He has performed with the greatest names in the Carnatic music scene.

Ghatam: Dr. Ravi Balasubramanian

Dr. Ravi Balasubramanian is one of the most sought-after ghatam artists in North America and is known for his energetic and sensitive accompaniment.

Kanjira: Medha Anantuni

Medha Anantuni will be accompanying her brother on the tanpura. Medha learns Carnatic music and violin.
